Meleni Aldridge has been immersed in the field of natural and integrative medicine for over 30 years. She is a practicing clinical psychoneuroimmunologist, functional medicine practitioner, certified Metabolic Balance coach and certified DNALife practitioner. For 11 years she lectured at St Mary’s University College, Middlesex, UK on the Sport Rehabilitation programme.
In July 2005, Meleni joined the Alliance for Natural Health International as its Executive Coordinator. In her role, one that she’s held for over 19 years, she works closely with Rob Verkerk, Ph.D., the Founder and Executive & Scientific Director of both of ANH-International and ANH-USA.
Meleni has spent almost 2 decades in regular consultation with the principal regulatory bodies shaping the food and healthcare laws of the world today. She has been instrumental in furthering the ANH-Intl’s goals and communications with the global integrative medicine community, the public, politicians and industry stakeholders. She has been actively involved in consultations with the European Commission, the European Food Safety Authority, the US Food and Drug Administration, the UK Food Standards Agency, as well as the Food and Drug Administration and World Health Organization of the United Nations. She has led meetings with Members of Parliament (both of Great Britain and the European Union) and has been invited to numerous conferences around the world.
In December 2005, Meleni was instrumental in setting up the ANH Consultancy Ltd, the consultancy arm associated with ANH-Intl, which deploys specialist consultants in the fields of medicine, science, regulatory affairs, food supplement formulation, marketing, branding and design, and other relevant fields, to help support leading edge and innovative companies and practitioners in the natural health field worldwide. She takes a leading role as project director as well as acting as a consultant herself.
In July 2004, Meleni, joined US constitutional attorney Jonathan W. Emord, Esq. and Alliance for Natural Health’s founder, executive & scientific director, Dr Rob Verkerk, in establishing US-based Regulatory Strategies International (RSI), LLC.
Meleni writes and contributes to articles, columns and press releases in the field of sustainable healthcare and regulatory threats and collaborates closely as a Board Member and Treasurer with ANH-USA, ANH’s regional office based in Virginia, USA. She is co-author, with Dr Rob Verkerk, and editor of RESET EATING: Reset Your Health and Resilience by Turning What and How You Eat into Powerful Medicine (2022, Matador).
As an experienced natural and integrative health practitioner, Meleni was approached by St Mary’s University College in 1995 and asked to devise and lecture on a new holistic health module for their specialist sport rehabilitation honours degree. She lectured for 11 years, whilst furthering her own studies in the field, before leaving to join ANH Intl.
Meleni combines broad knowledge of the natural health care sector with a deep understanding of the regulatory framework. She is committed to seeing the necessary shapeshifting in the scientific and regulatory environment required to facilitate further development of natural and sustainable healthcare.
